Pictured at BALTIC, Sam Telford reads a poem from his Zine, on display at BALTIC during the ‘Playing the Waiting Game’ show. His poems can be found on his website http://greyscalezine.tumblr.com the poem he chose to read was an amazing story of opening a door;  a story from his own past that really embraced the theme of waiting. Sam remembered his mum transforming their home whilst he was away ; making the walls Saharan yellow and the ceiling Saharan blue…a gesture of welcome and acceptance.

Our works draw on memory and on the unexpected promise that remembering gives us for making new work. I am writing these blog pages as I recall elements of an incredible Fellowship year.
